The 13 day Battle of the Alamo was a significant event that took place during the Texas Revolution. Under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna, Mexican troops reclaimed the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. Sadly, the battle killed many Texian and immigrant occupiers. It was Santa Anna's cruelty that inspired new Texians to join the army. Driven by revenge, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army on April 21, 1836–which resulted in the end of the rebellion.
